The DA&M organization consists of the Office of the Director of Administration and Management (ODA&M), Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), and the DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility (CAF).
The Office of the Director of Administration and Management (ODA&M) consists of the following:
PFPA is a civilian Defense Agency within the Department of Defense charged with protecting and safeguarding the occupants, visitors, and infrastructure of the Pentagon and other assigned Pentagon facilities. This critical mission is accomplished with law enforcement officers (United States Pentagon Police), criminal investigative and protective services agents; threat management agents; chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives technicians, and anti-terrorism/force protection and physical security personnel.
WHS is the essential services provider for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and offices in the National Capital Region. WHS provides a wide range of centralized capabilities to DoD headquarters, OSD, and DoD components, enabling economies of scale for delivering essential administrative services to fulfill the mission of the Department. The WHS vision is to remain a creative, results-driven capabilities provider, recognized for excellence: responsible, reliable, resourceful, and relevant.
The DoD CAF serves as the DoD executive agency for determining Personnel Security eligibility up to Sensitive Compartmented Information level, suitability for Federal Employment, and issuance of Common Access Cards IAW HSPD-12, in support of DoD (less DIA, NSA, and NGA). This includes uniformed members of the services, civilian employees, and contract personnel. Additionally, support Congressional Staff, the Congressional Budget Office, and the U.S. Capitol Police with collateral adjudication.
The Director of Administration and Management (DA&M) has three broad missions in support of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), tenants of the Pentagon Reservation, and specified Defense activities:
The DA&M exercises authority, direction, and control over the staffs and resources of the ODA&M, Washington Headquarters Services, Pentagon Force Protection Agency, and DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility, and engages partners and stakeholders in its management, governance, services, and contingency and continuity of operations functions.
